BURNING
Our Burny 3-burning machine has an
8-torch station and is capable of cutting all shapes up to and including 10" thick
plate, by the use of either templates, pre-programmed shapes or by CAD. Plasma torch
cutting is also possible up to 2" plate, using an attachment on our machine.
Track burners are used for stripping rectangular and square pieces to keep the burning
machine open for advanced shape cutting of pieces for fabrication jobs or for cutting
customer material. |

FORMING
The addition of two large press brakes allows
our shop to form A-36 material up to 3" thick. Previously cast parts, such as ladle
spouts and patch plates, are easily formed with our 1000 ton press brake. The heavy
capacity of our press brakes has also facilitated the forming of our chrome carbide wear
plates. This has reduced the lead time and final cost to our customers. Forming of
customer material is also done, under normal lead time and on a rush basis. |

WELDING & FABRICATING
The use of weld positioners, roller tables and
other fabricating equipment allows easibility of fitting and welding of large fabrications
such as furnace exhaust ductwork, valves, rotating chutes, and furnace bells. Multi-piece
fabricated assemblies, such as dummy bar cars and tundish cars, are shop assembled and
match-marked to insure proper fit in the field. Parts are then disassembled for shipping
purposes. Our welding shop is fully equipped with all the necessary tools to do an
efficient, quality job. |
