Refax, Inc. was established in 1983 and is a family run company. Our goal from inception has been to fulfill a need for a quality competitive fabrication shop to serve the steel industry in Northwest Indiana. Since opening our doors, Refax has expanded its services to provide world class wear solutions, equipment repair, pipe, structural, and bridge fabrications.
Refax, Inc. is proud to say that over 25% of its employees have been with us for over 20 years. This asset gives us an incredible amount of experience and wisdom to not only provide our customers with what they need, but to assist them in finding the solutions to their problems. Our mechanical engineers and certified staff combined with our extensive array of equipment, allows us to provide our customers with the service, knowledge, and products that will give you exactly what you need.

Refax, Inc. has two locations in Gary located in Northwest Indiana. We are positioned near major highways, waterways and rail. This allows us the ability to provide the most efficient transportation options for our customers.
The main fabrication, equipment repair and machining shop is 32,000 square feet. The main large bay has two overhead cranes with 25-ton and 20-ton hoists. Our shop is set up with 1-ton Jib cranes in each of our welding and fitting stations as well. The side bay has two 5-ton overhead cranes. Our main large bay door is 35' tall and 30' feet wide allowing us the ability to accommodate larger projects.
Our second location is a 7,200 square foot building with two 3-ton overhead cranes. This facility houses our plate burning equipment, and is where most of our plate processing is completed before being sent to our main shop for fabricating. Our table is 12' wide and 25' long and is furnished with flame and plasma cutting capabilities.
