Refax, Inc. was established in 1983 and is a family run company. Our goal from inception has been to fulfill a need for a quality competitive fabrication shop to serve the steel industry in Northwest Indiana. Since opening our doors, Refax has expanded its services to provide world class wear solutions, equipment repair, pipe, structural, and bridge fabrications.
Refax, Inc. enjoys long-term employee relationships with many having been with us for well over 10 years, and even a few who have been with us since the beginning in 1983! This asset gives us an incredible amount of experience and wisdom to not only provide our customers with what they need, but to assist them in finding the solutions to their problems. Our mechanical engineers and certified staff combined with our extensive array of equipment, allows us to provide our customers with the service, knowledge, and products that will give you exactly what you need.

Facilities
Refax, Inc. is conveniently located near major highways, waterways and rail in Gary, Indiana. This allows us the ability to provide the most efficient transportation options for our customers.
Our fabrication, equipment repair and machining shop is 32,000 square feet. The main large bay has two overhead cranes with 25-ton and 20-ton hoists. Our shop is set up with 1-ton Jib cranes in each of our welding and fitting stations as well. The side bay has two 5-ton overhead cranes. Our main large bay door is 35′ tall and 30′ feet wide allowing us the ability to accommodate larger projects.
