Manufacturing of Industrial Gore Sections for the Mining Industry 3

A mining industry customer approached Refax, Inc. to manufacture a gore section. The typical gore section is a plate steel elbow that is used in large round ductwork jobs that require a change in the direction of flow. At Refax, we manufacture gore sections with our own SA1750CR chrome carbide plate which is a perfect material for most high wear applications.

For this project, we burned, formed, fitted and welded the gore section, all while holding tightest tolerances of +/- 1/16". The gore section was then 100% inspected and then shipped.

Virtually any type of material that can be formed and welded can be made in to a gore section. This is especially helpful for our customer's applications that involve high levels of wear. We have formed duct work with corresponding gore section out of our SA1750CR chrome carbide plate for many high wear applications ranging from particulates to gases.
