A customer from the slag processing industry came to Refax, Inc. to manufacture a steel wear package for a heavy machinery bucket. We offer all of our clients a wide range of wear packages and our experts can recommend a specific package or work off of a customer’s custom design. For most wear package manufacturing jobs we use our Chrome Carbide Wear plate because it can be cut into any shape, formed into any contour, and will last 6 to 8 times longer than AR plate.
For this project, we formed, fitted and welded a combination of materials while holding tightest tolerances of +/- 1/16″. After a 100% inspection, we shipped the wear package to the client.
